What this page explains
This page helps you understand the difference between guest use, a normal account and plan-dependent features. What matters is what you can use in the product and how that plays out day to day.
Guest access
Without an account you can try turbometrics out, but only within clearly defined bounds:
- one guest scan is possible per 24 hours
- this guest scan is always public
- guest scans suit a quick first impression, not permanent use or internal projects
If you need more control after the scan, a normal account is the sensible next step.
Free accounts
With a free account, turbometrics turns from an open way to test into a personal workspace:
- you can assign scans to your account
- private scans are possible
- your history is kept
- depending on the plan, you can use scheduled scans, alerts and further features
Exactly which features are unlocked depends not only on being logged in, but on the active plan.
Plan-dependent features
Certain areas are controlled centrally in the product by your plan. Among them are:
- the number of scheduled scans
- available regions
- PDF export
- warning notifications
- webhooks
- sitemap import and its upper limits
If a feature is not available in your plan, turbometrics shows that right where it matters instead of letting you run into an error afterwards.
Signing in with Google or GitHub (OAuth)
turbometrics supports signing in via Google and GitHub — without a separate password.
How it works
On the login page and the registration page you find the Google and GitHub buttons below the form.
- An existing account with the same email address: you are logged in directly. The OAuth connection is added to your account.
- No existing account: a new account is created automatically. The email address counts as verified (the provider has already confirmed it). You receive a welcome email.
Notes
- Your password is kept and continues to work — OAuth is optional
- You can switch between login by password, Google, GitHub and passkey at any time
- turbometrics only stores the provider ID and the provider name, no OAuth tokens
Passkeys (WebAuthn)
In addition to signing in with email and password, turbometrics supports passkeys. With a passkey you sign in via fingerprint, face recognition or device PIN — without typing a password.
Setting up a passkey
- Go to Account → Security
- Click Add passkey
- Your device asks you for confirmation (Touch ID, Windows Hello, device PIN or similar)
- Optional: give it a name (e.g. "MacBook", "iPhone")
The passkey is stored securely on your device. turbometrics only stores the public key — no biometric data.
Signing in with a passkey
On the login page, the Log in with a passkey option appears below the normal login form. One click starts the authentication via your device.
Important
- Passkeys are optional — your password continues to work
- You can set up several passkeys for different devices
- Every passkey can be deleted individually under Account → Security
- Passkeys require a browser with WebAuthn support (all modern browsers)
Frequently asked questions
Why do I not see certain options?
That usually has one of three reasons:
- you are not logged in
- your plan does not include the feature
- the feature needs additional configuration, for example an email address or a webhook URL in your profile
Why is my guest scan public?
Because guest mode is deliberately meant as an open, fair way to test the product. For private results and recurring work, a normal account is the intended route.
