With a custom domain your public status page is reachable at an address of your own — e.g. status.mycompany.com instead of on turbometrics.io. Visitors only ever see your domain.
Example: webstatus.turbopress.de — the status page of turbopress.de, reachable under a custom domain.
Requirements
- An active public status page for the domain in question (from the Pro plan onwards)
- Access to the DNS settings of your domain
- Custom domains are limited to 3 on the Pro plan and to 25 domains on the Agency and Turbopress plans
Setting up a custom domain
- Go to My domains → Domain settings
- Scroll to the Custom domain section
- Enter the domain you want, e.g.
status.mycompany.com - Click Set up
turbometrics then gives you two DNS records that you have to add at your DNS provider.
Adding the DNS records
| Type | Name / host | Value |
|---|---|---|
CNAME |
your custom domain (e.g. status.mycompany.com) |
customerstatus.turbometrics.de |
TXT |
is displayed (e.g. _cf-custom-hostname.status.mycompany.com) |
is displayed |
The CNAME makes sure that visitors to your custom domain are routed to the turbometrics infrastructure.
The TXT record serves to verify ownership — it confirms that you control the domain.
Tip: with many providers (e.g. Strato, IONOS, All-Inkl.) you only enter the subdomain part in the "Name" field — so
statusrather thanstatus.mycompany.com, for example. With turbopress hosting you can do this directly in the Plesk panel under the DNS settings of the respective domain.
Checking verification
After adding the DNS records, propagation can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. Click Check status to query the current state. The status page shows:
- Pending — DNS not propagated yet, or records not yet correct
- Active — the custom domain is active and reachable
- Error — DNS records are not correct, or the domain is unreachable
What happens when the limit is reached?
Existing custom domains stay active. You cannot set up a new custom domain while the limit is exhausted. To add a new one, first remove an existing one with the Remove button in the domain settings.
Removing a custom domain
In the domain settings under Custom domain, click Remove. The custom domain is deleted from turbometrics and deactivated. You can then delete the DNS records at your provider yourself — they are no longer needed.
